Amanda has been the recipient of over $2.6 million AUD in federal funding to undertake research and community based & organisational initiatives involving cross-cultural engagements, Indigenous and plural knowledge, intercultural competency and ethical practice in everyday life. Some of these projects include:

2021-2024 Chief Investigator, Australian Research Council Linkage Grant, LP190100367 (with Barry Judd, Keir Reeves, Christine Schlesinger, Joseph Cheer), Project title: Incentivising on Country Aboriginal Employment: Anangu Futures. Industry Partners include: Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, Parks Australia and Northern Territory Tourism.

2019-2023 Lead Chief Investigator, Australian Research Council Discovery Grant DP190101522 (with John Bradley), Project title: Investigating the impacts and future of land rights and land restitution. In partnership with the li-Wirdiwalangu Elders Group.

2018-2022 Chief Investigator, Australian Research Council Discovery Grant DP170101083 (with Liam Brady; John Bradley; Karen Steelman), Project Title: More than artefacts: Contemporary Indigenous relationships to rock art. In partnership with the li-Anthawirriyarra Sea Ranger Unit, Borroloola.

2010-2012 Lead Chief Investigator, Australian Research Council Discovery Grant DP1093341 (with Liam Brady; John Bradley; Ian McNiven), Project title: Seascapes, Sea People and Indigenous Knowledge: Maritime heritage at the land/sea interface. In partnership with the li-Wirdiwalangu Elders Group and the li-Anthawirriyarra Sea Ranger Unit, Borroloola.
